A Story Starter:

____Patty walked in the door, went directly to the couch, and sat with her head down.

____Kathy, a thoughtful high school freshman, would not leave it at that. “I know something’s wrong. You’re usually in a much __2__ mood when you get home from __3__.

____“Well, I extremely dislike her! Everyone thinks she’s so __6__. She told my best friend, Faith, that she wouldn’t be friends with her unless she stopped being my friend. And now Faith won’t even __7__ to me!”
____“That isn’t good,” Kathy agreed. “You’ve got other friends, don’t you?”
____“A few,” Patty replied, still trying to hold back __8__, “but it hurts to lose your best friend.”
____“Patty, you didn’t lose a friend.”
____“I just told you, I did!”
____“Listen, Little Sister. When things are going bad, you don’t lose friends, you simply find out who your friends really are.”
