1.  Iaen wants to buy a 2 quarts of pickle juice. A quart carton costs 75
cents. A half gallon container costs $ 1.29. Keeping in mind that two
quarts equal a half gallon, Iaen knows that he can save ______ if he
buys the larger container instead of the two separate quart cartons.


2.  Michael is buying a shirt that sold for fifteen dollars, but is on sale for
25% off. What is the sale price of the shirt?


3.  Crystal is writing a novel. She already knows how many chapters
there will be in all. She’s already written 10 chapters, which is 50% of
the total chapters that will be in the book. How many chapters will be in
the book?


4.  There are 20 people in David’s class. Twenty-five percent of them
brought their own lunches and 75% bought one from the cafeteria. How
many people bought a lunch from the cafeteria?


5.  Which is more, 1/2 of a dollar, or 50% of a dollar?
