Percent

Some useful information: Fifty percent ( 50% ) means 50 per hundred or
the fraction 50/100. That means 50% is exactly one half, since 50/100
= 1/2.
To figure out what 1/2 of a number is, divide that number by 2. As an
example, 1/2 of 28 (or 50% of 28) is 28 divided by two, which is 14.

1. What is 50% of 346?

2. What is 50% of $ 9.82?

     Twenty-five percent ( 25% ) = 25/100 or 1/4. To figure out what 1/4
(or 25%) of a number is, divide the number by 4. For example, 25% of 32
is 8.

3. What is 25% of 124?

4. What is 25% of $ 57.00?

5. Jeffrey bought a tennis racket that usually sells for $ 36.00. The
racket was on sale for 25% off the regular price. What was the sale
price?

6. You want to buy shampoo that has a regular price of three dollars for
one bottle. In Store A, each bottle is on sale for 25% off. In Store B, if
you buy one bottle for the regular price, you can get a second bottle for
50% off. Which store has the better deal? Why?
